The Town of Chatham is located in Jackson Parish in north central Louisiana.

It is easily accessible from LA Hwy 4 and LA Hwy 34.

Chatham is approximately twenty-five miles south of Interstate 20.


In the area there are many recreational opportunities for those who enjoy, boating, fishing, swimming and camping. In Chatham there is a fishing pier and picnic area on Chatham Lake.

Caney Lake is located approximately 5 miles south of Chatham and provides some of the best fishing in the state. Jimmy Davis State Park, which is on Caney Lake, provides camping areas, cabins, group-camp facilities, picnic areas and a swimming area.


We have two main celebrations each year:

The 4th of July Parade, usually held the Saturday before the weekend of the 4th.
The Chatham Christmas Parade.

Each event has fireworks after dark.
